The PGA Tour is in Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship as the action gets underway on Thursday and the threat of thunderstorms could make for an interesting opening day. We have taken a look at the opening round threeballs and we fancy Marc Leishman to again thrive when the wind blows in the 'Lone Star State', while Ryan Palmer's record at the TPC Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas suggests he is well worth siding with this week...

AT&T Byron Nelson Championship Threeballs Odds Won/Lost Bet
Ryan Palmer to beat Gary Woodland and Ernie Els @ 7 / 5
Marc Leishman to beat Patrick Rodgers and Blyne Barber @ 10 / 11
Double Returns: @ 7 / 2

Thursday 19th May, 1.30pm - Ryan Palmer - Gary Woodland - Ernie Els
Match Odds:

Ryan Palmer features amongst our best bets in our AT&T Byron Nelson Betting Preview as he bids to build on three previous top-ten finishes in twelve appearances at Las Colinas. Palmer has finished the opening round inside the top-five of the leaderboard in four of his appearances there and his first round scoring average during his twelve outings in this event is an impressive 69.33.

Furthermore, Palmer ranks fifth for first round scoring average on the PGA Tour this season (69.31) and he arrives at this tournament in good form after following up his T4 at the Texas Open with a top-25 effort at The Players.

Gary Woodland offers stiff competition in this threeball and he does have a solid record at Las Colinas but the way he closed The Players with 76-74 at the weekend was a major concern. Ernie Els also fell away at The Players as he went 73-78-75 and it is worth noting that the veteran South African has only made one appearance at Las Colinas since it was redesigned in 2008.
Tip #1: Ryan Palmer to win his threeball grouping @ 7/5 with Betfred.

Thursday 19th May, 6.10pm - Marc Leishman - Patrick Rodgers - Blyne Barber
Match Odds:

Marc Leishman has been full of admiration for the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship in the build-up to Thursday and the way he is putting at the moment would suggest he is going to take some beating. The Australian has missed just two cuts in seven previous appearances at the Byron Nelson (8-12-MC-3-12-3-MC) and his first round scoring average during that time is an impressive 67.43.

Leishman should have more than enough to overcome his playing partners on Thursday as Patrick Rodgers hasn't made the cut in four of his last five starts worldwide and he has never made the weekend in a PGA Tour event in Texas, including on debut at Las Colinas last year. Meanwhile, Blyne Barber has also missed the cut in four of his last five starts and he was also heading home early on the Friday evening when making his only appearance at Las Colinas in 2014.
Tip #2: Marc Leishman to win his threeball @ 10/11 with
