The Leading Fancies
Ryan Moore returns to Nevada, where he went to college, as a 20/1 favourite after winning the title here in 2012 and the American will be looking to bounce back to form after his final round 75 on Sunday left him with a share of 23rd at the WGC HSBC Champions in China. Brookes Koepka (25/1) is also near the head of the market, as is the in-form Jon Rahm (25/1), who has racked up five top-25 finishes since turning pro in June.
Meanwhile, Chris Kirk's tie for 2nd at the Sanderson Farms Championship came swiftly off the back of successive top-ten finishes and he can be backed at 28/1 in Vegas.
It is another player with experience of the local area who tops our betting shortlist as local resident Scott Piercy is an attractive 33/1 shot and he heads to Vegas in fine form after following up his tie for 3rd at the Safeway Open with a tie for 10th in Malaysia. Piercy has hit the ground running this season and he has enjoyed an excellent 2016 in general after finishing runner-up at both the US Open and WGC Bridgestone Invitational.
A return of three top-tens and another top-25 at TPC Summerlin since 2009, allied with his fine recent form, ensures he is a stand-out pick here.
Tip #1: Scott Piercy (each way) @ 33/1 with Betfred.
Meanwhile, Kevin Streelman is another who has been remarkably consistent at Summerlin as he has finished in the top-25 in each of his past five visits, including a runner-up effort in 2014. The man from Arizona tied for 18th at the Sanderson Farms on Sunday and his accuracy off the tee, as well as his fine greens in regulation stats, ensure he makes the shortlist at 60/1.
Tip #2: Kevin Streelman (each way) @ 60/1 with Bet 365.
Elsewhere, Ryo Ishikawa looks to be a massive price despite carrying some red hot form with him to Las Vegas. The Japanese star will no doubt be inspired by the success of his fellow countryman Hideki Matsuyama in China last week and his tie for 10th at the CIMB Classic last time out was his fifth successive top-ten following a sensational run in Japan (1-2-3-7-10). Ishikawa tied 2nd at Summerlin in 2013 and he is a juicy 70/1 here.
Tip #3: Ryo Ishikawa (each way) @ 70/1 with B365.
Finally, Jason Bohn ended a dismal run of form by at least making the cut at the Sanderson Farms last week and he will no doubt be looking forward to a return to Las Vegas, where he has a quite stunning record. Bohn's results here read: 23-14-39-8-2-18-2 and he is surely worth a small each-way wager at 150/1.
Tip #4: Jason Bohn (each way) @ 150/1 with Betfred.
